Light is a visual experience... perhaps the most powerful of all because it shapes what we see, do, and feel. The best way to learn about light and lighting is to experience it: in three-dimensions, in full scale, and with dynamic, hands-on engagement. That's what you do at The Philips Lighting Application Center. You experience how lighting can improve your life and your enterprise.
Located at the Philips Lighting North American headquarters in Somerset, NJ, the Lighting Application Center presents more than 20,000 square feet of demonstrations and applications. Lighting education and training is also available in Canada (see Course Descriptions).
The LAC approaches lighting from a fully integrated perspective. Interactive, walk-in spaces engage you with the latest in technology: LED, advanced fluorescent and HID systems, high performance luminaires, daylight control, and much more. Full-scale demonstration environments show lighting in retail, office, education, and hospitality application revealing how lighting affects selling, working, and leisure spaces.
Experienced and independent lighting professionals provide practical information, explain application techniques and support a wide-ranging interchange of ideas. LAC Workshops are intense, but most importantly, they are fun, memorable, and immediately useful.
We design the content of each workshop around the specific lighting issues that are most important to you. Whether you want to follow a structured curriculum from Lighting Fundamentals to Lighting Certification or pursue specific interests in application and technology workshops, you will find formative, first-hand experiences at the LAC to help you achieve your learning goals.
Upon completion of each workshop, participants receive a certificate for professional development contact hours that may be self-reported to professional organizations for possible continuing education credit. Please contact the organization directly for information on continuing education credits.
Lighting is rapidly changing, offering you more and better choices for energy savings, environmental conservation, and visual impact. Your visit to the Philips Lighting Application Center can help you take advantage of these opportunities today.
